🖤It was love at first sight🖤
Hello Fellow Geeks 🤓
I love this book. I llllllloooooovveee this book. I LOVE THIS BOOK.
Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy is a book I read back in high school. #oldlady
And I have been in love ever since. It has romance, mystery, intrigue and an old world classic charm, what's not to love. I recently watched an old movie based on it and it was good!! Specifically the actors who were cast in the movie were exactly like I had always imagined and the mannerisms of French and English.. Oh Mon Dieu!! #pardonmyfrench
The story is based in the time period of French Revolution when the aristocracy was sent to the guillotines. An elusive englishman called "The Scarlet Pimpernel" and his band of followers rescue the innocent nobles who had nothing to do with the oppression of the lower class. While the french are searching for this man, a famous french actress, Margaret, marries A wealthy englishman Sir Percy Blackney and acts as a spy but eventually falls in love.
There are famous classics and then there are some which just get lost in time. This is one of those gems. I recently found out it's a 16 book series! But Alas, they are either available as ebooks or are extremely expensive or unattainable. #strugglesofabrokebibliophile
