The most frustrating thing to me is opening my dryer and finding clothes in there when I don't expect to. However this week has been a doozy. Sunday, my family left church early because we got the call my grandma had taken a turn for the worst. She was still coherent and we wanted the children to have a chance to talk to her and tell her they loved her. After the visit, the kids went to stay with an amazing friend overnight. I stayed with my mom and grandma through the day into the evening and around 1 am she passed peacefully. The whirlwind after that moment has included a sick husband and kids not sleeping, ice and winter weather x 2, a funeral and continuing school work with the children. It is no wonder I forgot a load of laundry.
Normally, I would beat myself up for not being able to keep it all flowing like I should. However, I have had a mindset change over the past year. It is ok for me to leave things undone. That doesn't make it easy. I have to remind myself and shut down the negative talk that wants to drown me but it is getting there. I realized when I opened that dryer door and that guilty feeling started to come over me and I was able to put that aside and give myself grace just how far I've come.
I encourage you, no matter what you are facing, give yourself grace! You are not meant to handle everything at all times. You are allowed to forget that load of laundry. Leave those dishes in the sink. Take some time for yourself. Life still goes on and you will be more present and happy for your people when you take some of that stress off yourself.
Hello Friday! #AD Over here enjoying my cold brew coffee and living my best mom life in this nursing top from @figure8moms because concealed zippers are my new obsession. What are you crushing on lately? #figure8moms
The ride to @spacesworks this morning for this month edition of @amsterdam_cm was bellow zero - like, to the point that my tears were freezing right on my cheeks . But worth it when you are welcomed by this space 🙌🏻
Hey hey! I’ve got a question for you lovely people today! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So often I hear that it’s really hard to create beautiful and cohesive content for Instagram when you aren’t a photographer - and that makes total sense. You want to be able to spend time on the other aspects of your business that fall in your zone of genius - and not waste time messing with content creation that just isn’t your thing.
So, I’ve been thinking about releasing some stock photo packages based around themes - Savannah photos, springtime photos, travel-themed photos, flat-lays, entrepreneur life...the list could go on forever!
I’m wondering - is this something you’d be interested in subscribing to for a monthly rate, where you’d get a certain amount each month (or maybe each week?), emailed directly to you? Or would you rather just pay for an individual set of photos whenever you decide you need them?
I’d love your thoughts! Feel free to comment below or shoot me a DM!❤️
Arrived in Costa Rica in partnership with @Delta#ad! There are a number of cafés (of course) on my list, but I have a ton of excursions planned as well. Today I ventured out to experience some of Costa Rica's gorgeous natural landscape including a volcano and a hot spring. Share your travel adventures using #SkyMilesLife! ✈️
Hello 👋🏻 *waves*
What genre do you read most? 🤔
For me, it’s mystery/thrillers. You could not tear me away from that genre if you had a crowbar and a box of fresh donuts. 🍩😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Okay! Heads up! The rest of this caption is a discussion post for me and my #readyplayeronereadalong buddies! Shield your eyes! There will be spoilers!
At this point we’ve read through Chapter 29. Wade has found all the keys, tipped off the other high fives, and is now embarking on a mysterious plan to ensure IOI doesn’t win control of the oasis.
Remember you can answer any or all of the discussion questions, so let’s dive in!
A. An entire population puts so much effort and time and money into making a virtual world more real, instead making the real world more livable. Do you feel this is a trajectory our own society is driving towards?
B. What effects do you think being constantly logged in to a virtual world might have on the human psyche?
C. Who would you program as your virtual assistant? Let’s make this on theme and have a rule that this person has to be from the 80s or before.
D. What is the most shocking aspect of Wade’s world to you so far? Indentured servitude? The technology? The social behaviors? IOI’s ruthless actions?
E. How are you liking this book after reading this section? More or less than our last discussion?
I can’t wait to chat with you in the comments because I am getting EXCITED about this ending!
I’d stay here for a while ☕️
I was taking a photo of this beautiful door when a stranger walked into my shot and made it look even better. Happy Friday, friends! 😊 #myhelsinkiresidence#visittallinn
