Yarn bowls at the drying stage. This is first generation, so I'll keep you posted on how it goes. With any new design I assume that there will be several rounds of create/fire/adjust/repeat. It reminds me not to get too attached and helps free me of my perfectionist mentality. I am forever a work in progress...

Black lines vase. This time with satin black on the interior. I have made a few of this combo now and it’s growing on me.
Ta da! Here is the glaze from the last two posts on un-carved pieces. I like it just as much and I hope you do too. ☺️ It was an amazingly successful kiln opening and I have much more to share with you.
I threw these large lidded jars on Monday, but only just got round to turning them today. The small piece in front (thrown last week) is to give you an idea of scale. It was made with 600g of porcelain, whereas these larger pieces are made with between 1.5 and 2kg and are all slightly different. I deliberately don’t weigh the clay when I make them, and just guess the ratio of clay needed for the lid in each case. It makes a nice change to throw pots without measurements every now and then.
