Our contributor @adventureafterall is currently trekking the Everest Base Camp trek in Nepal. This is what she has to say about her second d day on the trail:
Day 2EBC: Phakding to Namche Bazaar. Amazing but tough day today. Distance wasn’t too long. But we had 1000m of elevation gain and 200m of descent. Trekking for 6.5 hours. Really tired but happy. Crossed five of these suspension bridges. This one is extra special as there are two, on in top of the other. The older one is lower and not used anymore. There was an accident ten years ago and a Russian tourists and some oxen perished. So they built a new bridge.
Sleeping at 3350m tonight in Namche Bazaar.

Here’s one of my favorite spots in Tokyo: Kasai Rinkai Park. Cherry blossoms (桜、sakura) are known worldwide, but plum blossoms (梅、ume) are one of the first signs of Spring in Japan. One of the best places to see plum blossoms is Kairakuen in Mito, Ibaraki. But I prefer local spots like this so I can enjoy nature without all the crowds.
If you want to see Tokyo Bay, Tokyo Disney Resorts and Mt. Fuji all at once, this is the place to be. On the grounds of Kasai Rinkai Park is Tokyo Sea Life Aquarium, an aquarium that has sea life from the waters of Tokyo Bay, tropical coral reefs and the Antarctic. Get there by using the JR Keiyou Line (京葉線), Kasai Rinkai Koen Station (葛西臨海公園駅).
