"Что такое спорт? Это физическая активность.
Для чего мы стремимся заниматься спортом? Чтобы научиться управлять своим телом.
На скалодроме мы учимся управлять телом через лазанье.
Я не говорю о профессиональном спорте -большенству из вас это абсолютно не нужно. Стать немного сильнее, выносливее,быстрее-вот что доступно каждому. Подчините себе свое тело. А я вам помогу)"
This looks easy until you notice that all the holds are glossy on top, and less than a finger pad wide. If anyone knows the maker of these super creative holds, tag them. Also, the sweet heel hook beta to skip the start wasn’t my idea, but it works perfect! #climbingholds#climbing#bouldering
[ somewhere between 24 and 26 feet up | two thirds of the way to the top | somewhere between “this is a blast!” and “I sure hope that the person who set this rope was having a good day at work...I’m fine, the rope is fine...we’re all fine.” | just put one hand in front of the other; facing my fears one hold at a time ]
There comes a time when you have to decide which path you want to take with your life. I’m not talking about colleges or careers. Im talking about having to choose between two parts of yourself that are equally important to you. Do you follow your dream? Or do you accept the fact that you would never achieve your dream and to focus on more realistic goals? I’ve been on a hiatus from circus and acrobatics for a long time now. I needed to focus on my health with the goal of going back (not to mention the financial toll). Gymnastics is in my blood and circus has always been my dream. Since the first time I saw Cirque de la mer at Sea World and talked through the whole thing saying “Mom, I do that at practice! I could be out there right now. That’s so easy!” At 8 years old.... but now, at 23, I’ve finally realized that I should focus on keeping my body healthy and strong and maybe go back for fun every once in a while instead of trying to work in entertainment. I need stability in my life and the circus lifestyle just isn’t that for me anymore. It’s taken years for me to come to that conclusion and I’m not gonna lie, it hurts. It’s a different kind of heart break that I know all passionate athletes feel at some point. Thankfully it’s not as painful as when I had to quit gymnastics. Fortunately, I’ve rediscovered how much I enjoy rock climbing. I still get covered in chalk and calluses, I still have a mental and physical challenge, and I still get to have fun with friends. My new dream is to be happy and healthy. It’s ok to be lost sometimes, it helps you figure yourself out. ✌🏻🧗🏼♀️👩🏼⚕️ #anxiety#mentalhealth#mentalhealthawareness#journeytohappiness#roadtorecovery#ocdproblems#anxietyproblems#goals#dreams#circus#cirque#gymnast#gymnastics#retiredgymnast#rockclimbing#chalk#climbing#blackandwhitephotograph#messybun#selflove#converse#photography#mindovermatter
#climbing

Alex Waterhouse using a high heel to dial in the dyno at the Tour de Bloc event at Le Mouv’ a couple weeks ago. Lovin’ the rowdy crowd too! The TdB is back this weekend at Grand River Rocks in Kitchener, Ontario.
