/ the islands in the west coast of Norway have this unique colors. The land is dark and flat, in contrast with the huge mountains around it. The houses are colourful. The sea is brave and cold, you can hear it everywhere you go. But when the sea is calm, then you can hear the waterfalls: if you look up you can see them falling from thousands of meters up in the mountains. And the fog. There’s always this fog that makes the environment special.
We couldn't have asked for our last full weekend in Barcelona to be more perfect. Taking full advantage, we went up the mountain to overlook the city in the glorious sunshine, me soaking in the warmth on my bare arms while people in boots and puffer coats looked on, wondering what Arctic region I came from (that'd be northern Germany). It also drove home how, no matter how much I love Berlin and sweater weather, I can't shake that California born-and-raised need for sun. I feel like a different person down here. Thinking this will have to be our new winter routine...

Signs of spring in Edinburgh last week.🌿
Goodness knows we need all the signs we can get - February must be my least favourite month in the UK. Before I had kids I used to escape home to Sydney during February, but I haven’t been home for over 2 years now, and at this time of year I miss it like mad.
I’m psyching myself up to do the 24-hour-flight-with-two-young-kids madness in August, but as much as I want to go home, I haven’t quite been able to face it with two kids until now. Tips and reassurance for long haul travel with kids, anyone? I mean, basically you just have to push through it, right?!?! 🙈
What did you do this weekend? 💁🏻♀️ Mine involved long walks, vintage car spotting and loads of yummy food. Though today was veeeery disappointing as I discovered the the best falafel place in Notting Hill is no longer there... I’m sad and craving falafel. Or something salty and greasy please. 🙋🏻♀️🌯🥟🍟

| This stunning place was our @airbnb home away from home for the past four days at the Côte d’Azure. In the 1940s French poet Jacques Prevert lived here so I got inspired to post a quote from him: “Même si le bonheur t'oublie, ne l'oublie pas tout à fait.” #sponsored#cotedazur#travel#letsneverforgetthosedays
